Mangools is a set of tools done under one roof (and one monthly fee). Within the package you will find:
This is the first and best known tool from the set. It works like any other keyword research tool. You can type in your seed keyword and the tool will provide you a list of suggestions along with search volume, CPC, and keyword difficulty. Based on the returned suggestions it looks like it is using Google Keyword Planner data. On the right side of the list of suggested phrases, you can see the SERP overview for each of them. For each result, Mangools include the most popular SEO metrics: Domain Authority (Ahrefs), Page Authority (Moz), Citation flow and Trust Flow (Majestic). They will also show you the total number of backlinks each result has (provided by Majestic).
The downside of relying on Google Planner data is that you will get keyword suggestions focused mostly on paid search. This way you will miss a lot of related, long tail, information-focused keywords. Look at the screenshot below. I typed fascia rolls and selected queries tab to get some info keywords. There are plenty of info-phrases related to fascia rolls but the tool did not return a single suggestion.
This is just a bit extended version of a right-hand panel from KWFinder. You enter a keyword and the tool provides you a SERP overview, exactly like in KWFinder. You can see a few more metrics and a marker that separates all results that are above the fold from the ones below.
It is useful but I honestly do not get why they did not put all this within KWFinder in the first place. You can go to this view directly from KWFinder, which is good, but it always opens in a new tab – and this is annoying. If the space for this additional information was the issue then probably some kind of expand/hide button would do the trick.
This is a rank tracking tool. It is simple, intuitive, and gets the job done. On the main screen, you can see a general performance index which gives you an idea of how your site is doing without going through each and every keyword. You can see the position history, ranking distribution, daily gains & losses, and a few other standard charts. It tracks your phrases on a daily basis. You can also track your keyword from selected location and device – desktop or mobile. These features are pretty standard, so nothing fancy here.
When it comes to accuracy – it is accurate.Like any other well-known rank tracker. To be precise, it gives you the results you expect – the depersonalized ones. The whole concept of accuracy in the context of rank tracking is a big misunderstanding.
Biased Note!
If you just look for inexpensive and reliable rank tracker then take a look at MonitLabs.
It is the lowest-priced rank tracker on the market and tracks all the domains and urls from Top100 – not just yours. MonitLabs offers a free plan for up to 25 keywords monitored daily.
LinkMiner is Mangools’ tool for backlink monitoring and research. You can browse links for any domain you like. For each link, you can see the page which links to your site and how it looks on desktop and on a mobile device.
Is it better than leading link-monitoring tools like Ahrefs, Moz, or Majestic?
No. But – if paid annually – it is cheaper.
Plus, like I already mentioned before, Mangools use Majestic links data. So if you want to save some money and have a decent backlink monitoring tool at your disposal, Mangools is a good way to go.
This is something I consider an extension of LinkMiner. The same as with KWFinder and SERPChecker, these two should be under the same roof. SiteProfiler has a lot of data related to backlink profile: anchors, total backlinks, recently lost backlinks, referring domains, top content, and so on. I do not want to be too harsh or repeat myself but it really bothers me that this data is not presented on one dashboard. Having to open a new tab each time you want to see the data in a bit different context is not very convenient.
Mangools pricing is designed to convince people to pay for a whole year upfront. If you do that you will get 40% off. After the discount prices are attractive. Without it, they are pretty standard.
Mangools pricing without annual discount is as follows:
Mangools pricing with annual discount is as follows:
If the feature you care the most is backlink research then you should compare Mangools LinkMiner with industry-leading tools in that area. Obviously, they have more features but Mangools should make it up with the price, right?
Let’s see. First, I will compare the prices from Mangools month-to-month pricing, without an annual discount.
Please note, that prices for Mangools are in EUR.
Mangools Basic | Ahrefs Lite | Majestic Lite | Moz Standard | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Monthly price | €49 | $99 | $49 | $99 |
Backlink rows | 100K | 5M | 1M | 50M* |
Like you can see, Mangools pricing does not look good. It offers much less data for the price similar to Majestics’. Unless there is a specific reason for which you prefer Mangools, it is clear this is not the best option here.
Now let’s do the same but for annual plans. Prices and data limits below are still monthly but you have to pay for a whole year upfront.
Please note, that prices for Mangools are in EUR.
Mangools Basic | Ahrefs Lite | Majestic Lite | Moz Standard | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Monthly price | €29.90 | $82 | $41.67 | $79 |
Backlink rows | 100K | 5M | 1M | 50M* |
100K is still 100K but things look much better now. If you just need a tool for your own website and occasional competitor research then 100K should be enough.
* Moz enforces two separate limits: for a number of reports and for a maximum number of backlinks per report. In the Standard Moz plan (the one in the table) it is respectively 5K and 10K.
Another thing to consider when looking at Mangools pricing plans is their limits for the number of tracked keywords. In the highest pricing plan, it is only 1.5K. If your main need is to track SERP rankings for your keywords then doing it with Mangools is a bit pricey. Even with the 40% annual discount. Below is a price comparison with sample tools focused on rank tracking.
Below are the prices when you choose to pay on a monthly basis.
Please note, that prices for Mangools are in EUR.
Mangools | MonitLabs | SerpFox | RankTracker | |
---|---|---|---|---|
100 keywords | €49 | $6.90 | $10 | $14 |
500 keywords | €69 | $19.90 | $35 | $39 |
1000 keywords | €129 | $29.90 | $50 | $69 |
5000 keywords | — | $109.90 | $150 | $239 |
Note: Mangools has non standard limits, so within option for €49 you have 200 keywords, within option for €69 you have 700 keywords, and within option for €129 you have 1500 keywords.
And here, if you decide to go for an annual plan:
Please note, that prices for Mangools are in EUR.
Mangools | MonitLabs | SerpFox | RankTracker | |
---|---|---|---|---|
100 keywords | €29.90 | $6.90 | $8.30 | $11 |
500 keywords | €39.90 | $17.91 | $29.20 | $29 |
1000 keywords | €79.90 | $26.91 | $41.70 | $52 |
5000 keywords | — | $98.91 | $125 | $179 |
Note: Mangools has non standard limits, so within option for €29.90 you have 200 keywords, within option for €39.90 you have 700 keywords, and within option for €79.90 you have 1500 keywords.
Of course, they offer a lot more than just rank tracking so it still may be worth choosing Mangools. It all depends on your needs.
Mangools pros:
Mangools cons:
The list of the cons came out longer than I intended. Its length does not fully represent my opinion about the tool. I think it is a good option if you look for an affordable all-in-one SEO solution and if you are willing to pay for the whole year upfront. It is also good if you need a backlink data but industry-leading tools are too expensive for you.
On the other hand, if you just want a keyword research tool or a rank tracker then there are better and cheaper options out there. If this is the case you may find my post about tracking keyword rankings for free very helpful.
