In this post, you will find all the rank trackers available on the market in 2020. This article will help you find the tool that meets all your requirements and is within your budget. Although it might be challenging, I will try to keep all this information up-to-date.
If you are not interested in exploring all the possible options and just look for quick guidance then jump straight into Best rank trackers for a tight budget or Best all-in-one SEO tools.
If you have not done so yet, you should set up Google Search Console for your website. Although it’s not good for rank tracking you can still dig a lot of useful data in there. Particularly it’s a great tool for discovering new keywords that can bring you traffic. The installation process is very easy and it does not require any complicated stuff to do. Just visit the official Search Console site and follow the instructions.
Table of contents

2. Descriptions

3. Best rank trackers for a tight budget

look for a simple and low-priced solution.
4. Best all-in-one SEO tools

have a bigger budget and look for an all-in-one SEO platform.
Before you jump straight into exploring the table a word of explanation. It is not possible to compress the complete tool description into a few table columns. This is why I “standardized” naming of features and decided not to list all of the features but only the main ones. The ones you may be looking for in the first place. With some of these tools, you may see that they claim to have some feature and this feature is not listed in the table below. There are two possible reasons for that situation:
An example of the first case is when the company claims its tool has a keyword research feature while the only thing it does is discover a list of keywords you already rank for. Of course, such a feature has some value but in my opinion, it cannot be named as a keyword research feature.
If you don’t feel satisfied with the information in the table, there is a more detailed description for each tool below it. You can quickly get there by clicking the description link in the Name column. Some of the tools have a separate, in-depth review.
All the prices in the table are for daily keyword tracking. If the tool has a different pricing model, i.e. some kind of credits or prepaid units, the prices are recalculated in such a way to reflect how much will you pay if you decide to track a certain number of keywords on a daily basis.

MonitLabs focuses on rank tracking. It doesn’t provide other features like backlink monitoring, keyword research, and SEO audits. But it’s a solid rank tracker and it is the cheapest tool out there. It also gives you a deeper dive into the data because it tracks all the top 100 results for each day. You can inspect rankings for any domain or url for the keywords you track. The Dashboard with all the rankings data and the Landing Pages view with a performance for each url can be displayed for your website as well as for any of your competitors from the top 100 results.

SerpFox also focuses on rank tracking. If you want to have all the data under one roof, you can integrate it with your Google Analytics and Google Search Console accounts. It offers a free plan for daily tracking of up to 10 keywords. SerpFox suffers from the lack of a more readable dashboard with more graphs to quickly assess the overall ranking performance of a website. If you plan to track a bigger number of phrases this might be a small issue.

WhatsMySerp is probably the most limited rank tracker in terms of features. It tracks only Google and it’s dead simple. They offer a free plan for daily tracking of 10 keywords. The premium plans start at $5/mo for 25 phrases. It’s not a high price but knowing how few features this tool offers they could try to make it up by setting keyword limits a little bit higher.
Free plan: Yes, 10 keywords monitored daily.

SerpYou is a tracker that seems to be a little outdated. I wasn’t able to track keywords for Google mobile rankings. Maybe that was just not possible on a free trial but I didn’t see that option anywhere. On their page, you can see they claim to track rankings on Google, Bing, and Yahoo. Indeed, you can track your keywords in Google and Yahoo but I haven’t found an option to select Bing. Again maybe it’s just a case for a free trial, I don’t know. Apart from the above, it looks like the tool has most of the features you could expect from a rank tracker. Prices aren’t high and they’re giving a 20% off if you decide to pay for a 3 months upfront. Most of the other tools give the discount only on annual plans.
Free plan: No.
Free trial: Yes, no credit card required.

TinyRanker is another very simple rank tracker. It has a clean interface and is easy to navigate. For the number of features it offers prices are quite high. $19/mo for 100 keywords would be more suitable for a tool that offers something more than just rank tracking.
Free plan: No.
Paid plans: $19/mo - 100 keywords, next $49/mo - 500 keywords, and bigger plans.

It’s another tool that focuses solely on rank tracking. The UI is good but not very intuitive at the beginning. Everything is organized around groups, not projects. I don’t have enough space here to describe it in detail but it differs from how most of the other tools are organized. Once you get it and configure all your tracking settings everything is presented in a clean and readable way. But before you do so, you may struggle a bit to get the idea of how it works.
Free plan: No.
Paid plans: $9/mo - 50 keywords, next $19/mo - 200 keywords, and bigger plans.

Worth to note: You can track Youtube rankings (besides standard search engines).

I didn’t have a very pleasant experience with this one. First, they check your phrases daily on a free plan but after you pay, they start to check them on a weekly basis (sic!). There is a small info box about that but don’t think this approach is fair. As I only had a free trial account I’m not sure if it’s possible to track keywords on a daily basis with WhiteSpark. The second problem I had was that you have to select the exact city you want your keywords to be tracked from. It’s not possible to track them from, say, generic US location. The pro tip is if you still want to use this tool, try to cancel your subscription before you pay – they will offer you a big discount just before you confirm your cancellation.

Paid plans: $25/mo - 100 keywords, next $50/mo - 250 keywords, and bigger plans.

RankTracker has three subscription variants. The first one, solely focused on rank tracking, is the cheapest one. You can start at $8/mo for 50 keywords. If you want to have SEO audit and keyword research features you need to add a $20 to the price of the selected subscription. The third tier – the highest one – gives you higher limits for keyword research features and a dedicated account manager. It’s another +$30 to each plan.

ccuranker is one of a bit more expensive tools. The entry-level plan is €99/mo for 1000 keywords. They don’t offer any features outside rank tracking. For that price level, it’s a little surprising. However, they have a few non-standard integrations like Adobe Analytics or Google Sheets. Plus you can track your rankings in Baidu, Yandex, and Youtube.

In GeoRanker you don’t have an explicit limit for the number of keywords you track. You select your plan based on the number of credits that renew every month. One credit equals one position check for a single keyword. The entry-level plan is $99/mo for 5000 credits. This equals 166 keywords monitored daily for a whole month. The tool is more focused on on-demand position reports rather than daily monitoring. It’s possible to schedule position reports to be done on a daily basis but it’s not very intuitive.
Free plan: Yes, 500 credits (16 daily monitored keywords).
Paid plans: $99/mo - 5K credits (166 keywords), next $249/mo - (1666 keywords), and bigger plans.

This tool is targeted, as the name suggests, at SEO agencies. It has a tons of integrations (over 40 in total) for various 3rd party marketing and data analysis software. Authority Labs is one of the most well-known rank trackers. It offers a solid service but it’s pretty expensive. They don’t offer anything besides rank tracking and the entry-level plan is $49/mo for 250 phrases. The most interesting feature they have is “Now provided reports“. They analyze rank tracking data and the data from your Google Analytics account and give you an estimation about how much traffic each of your keywords generates. This feature helps you spot potential traffic opportunities and content gaps you may have on your website. What I didn’t like about Authority Labs was the UI and how things were organized. When I was navigating to different views the left menu kept changing and I didn’t see an easy way to go back.
Free plan: No.
Paid plans: $49/mo - 250 keywords, next $99/mo - 1000 keywords, and bigger plans.
Free trial: Yes, no credit card required.

The biggest advantage of AWR is the number of search engines you can track your rankings in. It’s 17 main search engines in total. Besides the standard ones like Google or Bing, you can track your rankings in engines like Alibaba, Ask.com, DuckDuckGo, Shopzilla, and many more. The biggest disadvantage is the price. Unless you are fine with tracking your keywords on a weekly basis you will spend a lot on this tool. The cost is based on the monthly amount of AWR credits you use. If choose the smallest plan ($49/mo) you will be able to only track 142 keywords on a daily basis with a density of 100 results (the AWR default is 50).

SE Ranking is a very well-known SEO tool. It goes way beyond rank tracking. It offers SEO audits, keyword research, backlink monitoring, and even basic social media management. It comes with the price but it has really a lot of features so if you need something more like an all-in-one type of SEO tool this might be an option for you. The downside is SE Rankings does not integrate with too many 3rd party tools which can be an issue for someone looking for a complex solution.

With DynoMapper everything is about creating xml sitemaps. Besides keyword tracking, it offers SEO audit which has to be done using the sitemap stored in DynoMapper. When I tried this tool on a free trial my experience was that some things were not working properly. For example, I was able to get the rankings for Bing and Yahoo but not for Google. I’m not sure if it’s some kind of bug or it was just a limitation for a free trial (a strange one if that was the case).
Free plan: No.
Paid plans: $49/mo - 1000 keywords, next $199/mo - 2500 keywords.

SerpWatch is a fairly simple rank tracker without any features outside the rank tracking space. It doesn’t have a free plan but it has a very cheap entry-level plan: $1/mo for 5 daily tracked keywords. It’s one of the cheapest trackers out there and it has a simple, clean interface. Although it costs proportionally more than daily tracking, you can schedule position updates for your keywords to be done twice a day or even on an hourly basis! What I find missing in this tool is you can’t create any subaccounts for your customers or employees. Also adding keywords was a bit tedious as I had to add them one by one instead of just copy-paste the whole list. There is a CSV import option available though.
Free plan: No. Paid plans: $1/mo - 5 keywords, next $8/mo - 50 keywords, and bigger plans. Free trial: Yes, no credit card required. White Label: Yes. Integrations: Google Analytics.
API: No. Worth to note: An option to track your keyword positions on an hourly basis (but it costs more). Website: https://serpwatch.io
NightWatch is a more feature-rich version of RankTrackr. Both tools are done by the same company and both of them are organized in a similar way. The first difference you will see is the main color theme – NightWatch is all black. But don’t worry – you can change it if you like. NightWatch has all the features of RankTrackr plus backlinks monitoring and SEO audits. It’s also more expensive. The entry-level plan is $19/mo for 100 keywords.
Free plan: No. Paid plans: $19/mo - 100 keywords, next $39/mo - 250 keywords, and bigger plans. Free trial: Yes, no credit card required. White Label: Yes, reports only. Integrations: Google Analytics, Google Search Console.

plus SEO audits and backlinks monitoring. Website: https://nightwatch.io
Raven Tools is an all-in-one SEO platform. It has features for rank tracking, backlinks monitoring, SEO audits, and social media management. They also have a lot of integrations with other tools but when used for rank tracking it can be pretty costly. You can configure to check your positions daily or weekly and you are paying for the number of position checks. In the smallest package for $39/mo, you will get 1500 checks. It translates to daily monitoring of just 50 keywords. It’s very small limit for that price, even for an all-in-one SEO platform.
Free plan: No.
Paid plans: $39/mo - 1.5 checks (50 keywords),
next $79/mo - 15K checks (500 keywords), and bigger plans.

Mangools is a set of SEO tools: KWFinder, SERPChecker, SERPWatcher, LinkMiner, SiteProfiler. KWFinder and SERPChecker are both related to keyword research. LinkMiner and SiteProfiler are related to backlink research. SERPWatcher is the tool for tracking keyword rankings. Mangools gives you a %40 discount if you pay for a whole year upfront. With that discount, I consider prices for the whole set pretty attractive. The features that Mangools miss to be a typical all-in-one SEO solution are SEO audits, WhiteLabel, and few standard 3rd party integrations.

Wincher is one of the simplest rank trackers out there. It’s solely focused on rank tracking and the prices reflect that. It’s the second cheapest rank tracker out there (after MonitLabs). The entry-level plan is €10/mo for 100 keywords which is a pretty standard price for a simple rank tracking. But if you need more keywords then for each next 100 phrases you will pay only +€3/mo. The downside is that there is a limit of 100 keywords per project so if you have a bigger website it may be an issue. They claim Wincher has keyword research feature but it’s just showing you a bunch of keywords related to the ones you already track. As I explained in the intro to this post, a thing like this has some value but it’s not something I can call a real keyword research feature.

Dragon Metrics is a feature-rich tool with a pretty high price for an entry-level plan. For $99 per month, you will be able to track 1000 phrases. Besides that, you will have SEO audits feature, keyword research, backlinks monitoring, and backlink analysis. Dragon Metrics has many different dashboards filled with data and it gives you a lot of material to analyze. In order to sign up, you need to use your business email (the one with @yourdomain.com). Otherwise, your sign up form will be rejected.

They have a free trial but you need to give them your billing info to get access to it. Nothing wrong with that, many companies handle it like this. The problem is that when you enter your billing info you see an amount to pay. Although most likely this is the amount you will pay if you won’t cancel your subscription before the free trial ends, the messaging is not super clear. I canceled the payment and my free trial was activated anyway – wow! When I tried to do that again to see if it happens every time id didn’t work this way. Also, they don’t have an SSL certificate installed on their main domain. The application itself is hosted under the subdomain for which there is an SSL certificate but still, it’s definitely not a good practice to ignore the certificate for the main domain. In general, they didn’t earn my trust. In regards to the tool itself, this is a pretty standard rank tracker and it does not offer any features besides rank tracking. The entry-level plan is also a bit too expensive in my opinion. $19/mo for 100 phrases is too much for a tool like this. With higher plans, price to keyword limit ratio looks better.
Free plan: No.
Paid plans: $19/mo - 100 keywords, next $49/mo - 1000 keywords, and bigger plans.
Free trial: Yes, but credit card info is required.
White Label: Yes, reports only.

SEOprofiler has TONS of features. Some of them are fluff, so you’ll have to filter out useless things on your own, but in general, it gives you a lot of value. It’s a typical all-in-one SEO platform. It has everything from rank tracking, SEO audits, and keyword research to backlink monitoring and analysis. It’s the only SEO tool I found that has an uptime monitoring feature. Every keyword you add is tracked in Google, Google Mobile, and Bing. This means you have to divide the maximum number of tracked keywords in each plan by 3. This is how many unique phrases you can track.

This is a Neil Patels’ tool. For those of you who don’t know him, he is one of the most famous experts in the world of SEO and making money online. Ubersuggest started out as a keyword research tool but right now it slowly evolves more into an all-in-one SEO platform. Besides keyword research, it also offers backlink monitoring/analysis, SEO audits, and obviously rank tracking. The rank tracking features alone are pretty standard. You can track your keywords daily starting from $29/mo for 300 keywords. To sign up for a free trial you need to use your Google account. It tracks rankings only in Google.

Formerly known as Positonly, Unamo SEO is a tool that focuses mostly on rank tracking. In this area, it has all the features you can expect: daily tracking, reporting, alerts, and dashboard with aggregated data. All this information is presented in nice looking UI. Besides rank tracking the tool offers SEO audits. By subscribing to the Unamo SEO you gain access only to this tool. I’m mentioning this because there are also two other tools offered by Unamo: Unamo Social Media Monitoring and Unamo Image Monitoring.

RankWatch is actually a pretty feature-rich SEO tool. Besides rank tracking, it offers backlink monitoring, keyword research, and SEO audits. The most unique advantage of the tool is the number of search engines it handles. However, I have had a hard time using it. There is a certain concept about how the data is presented to the user and maybe you will like it, but for me, the interface was just unintuitive. Also, some menu options will take you to a completely different screen while others will not. Sometimes there is no easy way to navigate back. For a few actions, I waited for data so long that I closed the browser tab and tried again.
Free plan: No.
Paid plans: $29/mo - 250 keywords, next $58/mo - 500 keywords, and bigger plans.
Free trial: Yes, no credit card required.
White Label: Yes.
Integrations: Google Analytics.

Worth to note: You can track your rankings in Seznam and Naver (besides standard ones).

If you just want to have a tool that will track your keyword rankings you don’t need to spend a fortune on it. Depending on your exact needs, there are several good options for that. All the tools below are capable of tracking keywords from the exact location and check mobile rankings. Although in the industry, there is a lot of marketing fluff around rank tracking accuracy, all the tools in this article are accurate. Also, there are some misconceptions related to this term. If you are interested in a more detailed explanation read this.
MonitLabs – It’s the cheapest solution out there. Plus the tool has a free plan for daily monitoring of 25 keywords. You will get more data to look into as the tool is tracking all results from the top 100. It is possible to define subaccounts and add your own branding to the reports and to the application itself. It handles rank tracking in Google (standard one and Google Maps), Bing, and Yahoo. The downside is that MonitLabs don’t have any 3rd party integrations. As an alternative, you can try Wincher. They are the second cheapest rank tracker and also don’t offer any 3rd party integrations. You can track only Google rankings with them. They don’t offer a free plan.
SerpFox – If you want to connect your Google Analytics and Google Search Console accounts to the rank tracker to have all your data under one roof this is the cheapest option for that. SerpFox also offers subaccounts and white label features (branding). The disadvantage is they don’t have a very good dashboard. It’s nice looking and clean but it lacks charts with aggregated data to quickly assess if your site is doing ok. You can read a full review here. Alternatively, you can try SerpWatch. It has a better dashboard and a bit more features but it integrates with Google Analytics only. Although pricing plans for SerpFox and SerpWatch are very similar, SerpFox is slightly cheaper and offers a free plan for daily monitoring of 10 keywords. Both tools handle Google, Bing, and Yahoo but SerpWatch handles also Google Maps and Yandex as well.
If what you are after is tracking YouTube rankings for your videos, then you can try RankTrackr, Rankitor, or RankTracker. Prices for the first two are similar, RankTracker prices are slightly higher. There is also a free option for YouTube tracking – GeoRanker. It’s more focused on on-demand ranking reports and the free plan gives you 500 monthly credits for that. The paid plans in GeoRanker are very expensive though. Especially if you want to track your keywords on a daily basis.
This should go without saying but still, I’m going to say it: all-in-one SEO platforms require a little higher monthly budget than simple rank trackers. Having that said, here are the best options.
NightWatch – if you want to be conservative with your spendings this is the cheapest option for this kind of tool. For $19 per month, you will be able to track 100 keywords and gain access to its full set of features: SEO audits and backlink monitoring/analysis. If you need a higher keyword limit then there is no point going for higher NightWatch plans. You will be in the price range of better tools. Also, the missing piece in NightWatch is the keyword research feature.
If you are willing to pay for the whole year upfront you can get a decent keyword research feature for EUR 29/mo by subscribing to Mangools toolset. On the downside of Mangools is that it lacks an SEO audits tool. You can read the full review here.
If you want to have all the standard SEO features, then the cheapest options are RankWatch (I didn’t like the interface) and Ubersuggest. Both of these tools have an entry-level plan for $29/mo. If you decide to invest $10 more you can go for SE Ranking. The entry-level plan is $39/mo for 250 daily tracked keywords. Within this plan, you will have access to all of the above pillar features plus basic social media management and a lot of smaller features. In my opinion, this is the best option overall. You can read the full review here.
The main downside of the SE Ranking is that they don’t offer many integrations with other marketing tools. If you need a lot of 3rd party integrations there are few tools to choose from. Basically you can go with either one of the three: AgencyAnalytics (over 40 integrations, plus social visibility monitoring, but no keyword research feature), RankRanger (around 30 integrations), or Raven Tools (around 20 integrations, plus social media management). If you need to integrate with some specific tool just go through the descriptions above and see which 3rd party tools each rank tracker integrates with.
I’m not recommending tools like Ahrefs, Majestic, or Moz. These tools are great if your primary focus is on backlink research. But when it comes to rank tracking they are not the best choice. Ahrefs and Moz are not checking your rankings on a daily basis, and Majestic is tracking your keywords using Google Search console data which, for the purpose of rank tracking, is not very reliable.
